Maternity Massage

Pregnancy is a time of incredible change for the body, and maternity massage is designed to support you through every stage of that journey. At The Lake Country Collective, our prenatal massage treatments focus on comfort, relaxation, and helping relieve the physical tension that can come with pregnancy.

As the body changes, many women experience discomfort such as lower back pain, hip tension, swelling, fatigue, headaches, and tightness through the shoulders and neck. Maternity massage uses safe, supportive techniques and positioning to help reduce stress on the body while creating a calming space for both mom and baby.

Prenatal massage can help support pregnancy by:

  • Reducing muscle and joint discomfort

  • Relieving tension in the low back, hips, and shoulders

  • Improving circulation and reducing swelling

  • Supporting better sleep and relaxation

  • Helping regulate stress and nervous system tension

  • Encouraging overall wellness and connection to your changing body

Every treatment is adapted to your stage of pregnancy and your individual needs. Supportive pillows and side-lying positioning are used to ensure comfort and safety throughout your treatment.

Whether you are looking for relief from physical discomfort, time to relax, or ongoing support during pregnancy, maternity massage offers a gentle and nurturing approach to care for both body and mind.

Deep Tissue Vs Trigger Point Therapy vs Neuromuscular Therapy

While deep tissue massage, neuromuscular therapy, and trigger point therapy are often used together, each technique has a different focus and purpose within treatment.

Deep tissue massage uses slower, firmer pressure to target deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is commonly used to help reduce chronic tension, stiffness, and areas of tightness throughout the body. Deep tissue work can be helpful for posture-related discomfort, repetitive strain, and general muscular tension.

Neuromuscular therapy is a more specific treatment approach that focuses on the relationship between the muscles and nervous system. It is used to assess and treat patterns of muscular dysfunction, pain, and imbalance. This technique often involves precise pressure applied to specific muscles to help improve movement, reduce pain, and restore function.

Trigger point therapy targets small, tight knots within the muscle that may cause pain locally or refer pain into other areas of the body. These “trigger points” can develop from stress, injury, overuse, or poor posture. Treatment involves sustained pressure to release these sensitive points and help reduce pain and tension patterns.

During your treatment, techniques may be combined depending on your needs and goals. Whether you are dealing with chronic tension, muscle tightness, headaches, postural strain, or injury recovery, these therapies can work together to help support mobility, reduce discomfort, and improve overall muscular health.

Relaxation Vs Therapeutic Massage

Relaxation massage and therapeutic massage both use hands-on techniques to support overall well-being, but they differ in their focus and treatment goals.

Relaxation massage is designed to help calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and promote overall relaxation. Treatments typically use smooth, flowing techniques with lighter to moderate pressure to help ease general muscle tension and create a sense of rest and balance. Relaxation massage can be a great option for stress management, improving sleep, reducing tension from everyday life, and taking time for self-care.

Therapeutic massage is more focused on addressing specific areas of pain, tension, injury, or dysfunction within the body. Treatments are tailored to your individual concerns and may include a combination of techniques such as deep tissue work, trigger point therapy, stretching, or focused muscle treatment. Therapeutic massage is often used to help with chronic tension, headaches, postural strain, repetitive stress, injury recovery, and improving mobility and function.

While the approaches are different, relaxation and therapeutic massage do not have to be completely separate. Many treatments include elements of both. Helping relieve physical discomfort while also creating space for relaxation and nervous system support.

At The Lake Country Collective, treatments are personalized to your needs, comfort level, and wellness goals to create a supportive and client-centered experience.

Wellness Massage

Wellness massage is designed to support overall relaxation, stress relief, and general well-being through calming, restorative treatment. These sessions focus on helping the body and nervous system unwind while creating space to relax, recharge, and reconnect.

Treatments may incorporate a variety of techniques, including Swedish massage and relaxation-focused modalities, using pressure tailored to your comfort level and individual preferences. Wellness massage can help ease general muscle tension, improve circulation, support better sleep, and reduce the physical effects of everyday stress.

Unlike more treatment-focused therapeutic massage, wellness massage is centered around maintenance, relaxation, and supporting balance within the body. Sessions are ideal for clients looking to prioritize self-care, reduce tension from daily life, or simply take time to slow down and reset.

This service is offered at a discounted rate while Jack completes his massage therapy education. Treatments are provided in a calm, welcoming, and client-centered environment, with a focus on comfort, relaxation, and overall wellness support.

Kids Massage (Ages 5-12)

Kids massage therapy is designed to create a safe, supportive, and comfortable introduction to massage for children ages 5–12. At The Lake Country Collective, this service is offered exclusively by Emily, with a gentle and individualized approach that focuses on helping children feel at ease throughout the experience.

Every child is different, which means no treatment is ever exactly the same. Sessions are guided by the child’s comfort level, preferences, and readiness, not by expectations placed on them. The goal is to help children build trust in the process, understand body awareness, and feel empowered to communicate what feels comfortable and what does not.

Treatment may involve light massage techniques, relaxation-focused care, calming nervous system support, or simply getting familiar with the massage environment and process. Some children may be comfortable with a full treatment right away, while others may need a slower and more gradual introduction, and both approaches are completely okay.

Parents or guardians are required to remain in the room during the treatment to help create a safe and supportive environment.

Kids massage may help support:

  • Relaxation and stress reduction

  • Body awareness and comfort with safe touch

  • General muscle tension and growing discomforts

  • Nervous system regulation and calming support

  • Positive healthcare experiences and communication skills

Emily’s approach is centered around creating a calm, respectful, and pressure-free environment where children feel heard, supported, and in control of their experience.
